I need to take a shower but I’m so wrapped up in being Black right now that I can’t even think about going to work.

No seriously, I really can’t think of anything other than my Blackness and how that relates to my masculinity and all of this! I cannot even think about going to work where I have to be nice to all these wealthy white males right now.

I am not racist (Well it’s impossible for us to be racist but) what I mean is, I don’t hate white people at all, I’m just becoming SUPER aware of this white male construct that is EVERYDAY LIFE. It’s really starting to affect my perception of things, and where I work is just like a daily social experiment in “How can upper class white people use their privilege”-ology. Seriously.

White people in my everyday life, I don’t hate you. I don’t hate anyone.

Here’s the thing. White people, never think that a Black person being pro-Black= that same Black person being anti-White. It doesn’t mean that. Just because I, as a Black person, acknowledge, not only my Blackness, but your whiteness and your subsequent social privilege, doesn’t mean I hate you, or resent you, or feel any sort of negative way about you, just know that if I am aware of it, and I have no issue with making you aware of it as well.

I love everyone. I am just aware, and really it’s making me… mad, but also kind of disappointed. Because let me tell you something, subtle racism, sexism, heterosexism, homophobia, transphobia, and these other things, are WAY WORSE than the kind that is blatant. When you’re obviously all these things, we know to stay away from you. We don’t go to KKK meetings for a reason, there is purpose in us not going there. Cuz we know there’s gonna be some shit, but when you’re undercover racist, you might be in our group of friends, we don’t know until you say something crazy and we have to let you know. You might not even know that you’re racist, THAT’S HOW UNDERCOVER RACISM(classism, sexism, heterosexism, etc) WORKS. You don’t even know that what you’re doing is offensive as fuck, so you just keep doing it.

-sigh- I’m working myself up again.

I just wanted my white followers, or people who stumble across this blog to know that I (other informed Black people) don’t hate you, by any means, we just see you, that’s all. We see you for what you are, which is privileged, and if you see yourself for what you are, we can be kewl. We can be friends, we can even have discussions about your white privilege if you want. -shrugs- Let’s hang out, but if you don’t, I will be more than happy to call you on it.

That’s all I’m saying.
